The Wednesday programme is aimed primarily at the Inters groups (1st & 2nd Years in Secondary) and with it we hope to facilitate those fellows who due to other commitments on Saturdays find it difficult to come to Anchor on a regular basis.
The programme of activities on Wednesdays will be quite varied and challenging and it will not be a continuation of the Saturday activities – so even if you cannot come on Saturdays you will not have a problem fitting into the Wednesday programme.
Even though the activities will vary from week to week, the schedule of each Wednesday will be fairly constant, starting at 6.45pm and ending at 9.00pm . We want to dedicate the first 40 minutes to “Supervised Homework/Study” to help you finish any homework you might have from school. So make sure to bring one or two school books and copies with you to the Club. After this we will have a variety of enjoyable educational activities that will help you develop your personality in many different ways.
Some examples of Wednesday evening activities:
• map reading & survival skills
• team games and challenges
• debating and public speaking
• quizzes & treasure hunts
• first aid course
• music performances
• guest speakers
There will be a weekly fee of €2 due each Wednesday
